Then I read in today's news the article about Google Latitude. Yea, I know, they have ways to "protect" people from it, but how hard would it really be for the government to get permission to access these data files, to have this technology, to "check in" on people who don't say the things they would like or whatever.
It's a little freaky.

I was in the library with my students a month or two ago (yes, they SHOULD have been typing an essay) and some students had up Google Earth and Google Map. I think it was the map application and it showed roads and intersections so clearly that we could see peoples faces in their cars! GE is getting so advanced you can see very clearly cars in driveways...it creeped me out!
It is scary... A lot of things scare me about our world today so much so that I think I'm becoming numb to it. When I read this, it just should have been shocking, a surprise, but it wasn't...
